The Wedding Portrait

The Wedding Portrait sounds kind of like The Wedding Singer. It is actually just a portrait done for a wedding. Anyway it feels kind of anticlimactic posting this picture after posting all of Ann Gales beautiful paintings. I started last night at about 10:00pm and finished this morning at about 3:30am. Not my best effort but under the circumstances i hope it will do. Thankfully my in-laws are very forgiving. After all my mother-in-law goes through my garbage and frames art I deem failures. So maybe this will work. Now that I am done i can start really digging intoevolving my style.

Ann Gale

At the Paul Davis workshop I rediscovered the excitement I have for painting. During the workshop I was exposed to a painter named Ann Gale. The more I see of her work the more it appeals to me. This style or approach to painting gives me a platform to expand the vision I have had for my own work. I have been looking for something that would satisfy my artistic vision(which will continue to evolve and expand for the rest of my life). My last few paintings have started to lean this direction but with little success. It is hard to give up the old habits.
